Your 2024 Unclaimed Property Report is due October 31, 2024

Important! This notice does not apply to insurance businesses. For complete filing information, check out the Guide to Reporting Unclaimed Property.

How to file your report:

Review your records for unclaimed property. Unclaimed property is money or intangible property owed to an individual or a business. Property is considered unclaimed after it is held for a period of time with no owner contact. Detailed instructions can be found on our website, ucp.dor.wa.gov.

Read the Guide to Reporting UCP

File online. Go to ucp.dor.wa.gov. Under the “Reporting Property” tab, select “Submit a Report.” You may choose to upload your NAUPA formatted file or use our free manual online reporting tool for reporting a small number of properties. To pay your report, please follow the instructions found on our website here.

No property to report? Businesses are no longer required to file a negative (no property) report if they have no unclaimed property to report. Continue to review your records each year for any unclaimed property that your company may be holding.

Need an extension? If you need an extension, contact us prior to the due date by emailing WAUCPHolders@dor.wa.gov. Provide the business name, federal employer identification number, and length of extension requested.

All reports must be electronically filed and paid by October 31. A 5% penalty will be applied for failure to file and/or pay electronically. A 10% penalty applies for late reporting.
