Quarter 1, 2023 Update -- Sales Tax Rate Tools
The Quarter 1, 2023, Washington State sales tax rate changes are now available.
On January 1, 2023, the sales tax rate lookup tool, including the map and latitude/longitude search, will include the following changes:
- Sales and use tax within the City of Auburn (King County and Pierce County) will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001) for transportation services.
- Sales and use tax within the City of Battle Ground will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001) for transportation services.
- Sales and use tax within Clark County will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001), except for the City of Battle Ground which will increase two-tenths of one percent (.002), for criminal justice and public safety.
- Sales and use tax within the City of East Wenatchee will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001) for transportation services.
- Sales and use tax within the Garfield County will increase two-tenths of one percent (.002) for emergency communication systems and facilities.
- Sales and use tax within the City of Kalama will increase two-tenths of one percent (.002) for transportation services.
- Sales and use tax within the City of Olympia will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001) for cultural access programs.
- Sales and use tax within the City of Pasco will increase two-tenths of one percent (.002) for public facilities.
- Sales and use tax within the City of Port Orchard will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001) for transportation services.
- Sales and use tax within the City of Wenatchee will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001) for transportation services.
- For sales and use tax within certain areas of Bremerton, a new location code will be created.
- For sales and use tax within certain areas of Unincorporated Clark County and La Center, new MVET location codes will be created for motor vehicle sales or leases.
- The Tourism Promotion Area (TPA) lodging charge within the City of Spokane Valley will be established at four dollars ($4) for tourism promotion.
- The Tourism Promotion Area (TPA) lodging charge within Spokane County and the City of Spokane will be established at four dollars ($4) in Zones A and B and one dollar ($1) in Zone C for tourism promotion.
