Quarter 1, 2021 Update -- Sales Tax Rate Tools

The Quarter 1, 2021, Washington State sales tax rate changes are now available.

 

On January 1, 2021, the sales tax rate lookup tool, including the map and latitude/longitude search, will include the following changes:

  • Sales and use tax within King County, except for Seattle, will increase one tenth of one percent (.001) for housing and related services.
  • Sales and use tax within Pend Oreille County will increase one tenth of one percent (.001) for chemical dependency or mental health purposes.
  • Sales and use tax within the City of Sunnyside will increase two tenths of one percent (.002) for transportation services.
  • For sales and use tax within certain areas of Unincorporated Grays Harbor, Lewis, and Thurston Counties, new location codes have been created.
  • For sales and use tax within certain areas of Oakville and Tumwater, new location codes have been created.
  • The Tourism Promotion Area lodging fee within Skagit County will increase to two dollars ($2) for tourism promotion.
