We published our updated guideline documents for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) 2026 Application Cycle that closes November 30. Updates include amendments to the guidelines for:
- Construction.
- Planning and Engineering.
- Consolidation Feasibility.
- Drinking Water System Rehabilitation and Consolidation.
- Emerging Contaminants for Small and Disadvantaged Systems.
We will publish guidelines for a new piloting innovative technologies grant program in the near future.
You can find the draft guidelines on our DWSRF webpage. They are open for comment through October 1.
We started reevaluating criteria for determination of disadvantaged community status. Although there are no changes to the current criteria proposed for this application cycle, we are including additional options as part of our draft guidelines to allow for comment as we move forward from the last year of supplemental Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funding. You can find the proposed criteria as an additional map layer in the Disadvantaged Community Map Application.
PLEASE NOTE: This is the last application cycle that includes significant additional funding availability under the BIL, including the dedicated funding for emerging contaminants and lead service line replacement. We anticipate that funding availability in coming application cycles will be significantly reduced from the current cycle. Water systems are encouraged to take advantage of the current funding surplus.
We are holding several workshops/webinars to discuss:
- Guideline changes,
- How to achieve a successful project application,
- Program updates and overviews,
- How to demonstrate fiscal viability, and to give
- Updates on the Drinking Water Needs Survey and Assessment.
Workshops are scheduled on the following Wednesdays from 8:30 am to noon.
- July 29.
- August 19.
- September 9.
- October 14
