The 2025 Year End Report for Childhood Vaccine Program Orders and Waste is now available. This annual report summarizes all CVP vaccine doses ordered and wasted between January 1 and December 31, 2025. Waste is categorized by routine vaccines and respiratory vaccines (RSV, COVID-19, and influenza).
Please note that wastage data may not be fully accurate in all cases due to increasing inclusions of adult vaccine returns in WAIIS. When vaccines are available through both the Childhood Vaccine Program and Adult Vaccine Program and are not clearly identified by program, they may be incorrectly attributed to childhood vaccine returns.
We encourage the provider signatory, vaccine coordinators and clinic leadership to review and discuss this report together.
To review your clinic's data:
- Select your county tab
- Search for your clinic using your CVP PIN
- Review the following columns closely:
- Total Cost Pediatric
- Total Doses Pediatric
- Peds - Overall Wastage Percent
- Peds Non-Seasonal Wastage Percent
- Peds - COVID Wastage Percent
- Peds - RSV Wastage Percent
You may find the Reducing Vaccine Waste Toolkit helpful when evaluating your data and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and right-size vaccine orders.
The Washington Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (WCAAP) also offers support to clinics working to reduce vaccine waste and improve ordering practices. Clinics with wastage rates ≥ 5% are especially encouraged to seek assistance. For more information, email VaccineManagement@wcaap.org.
