The Department of Health is accepting applications to fill two professional member vacancies on the Washington State Dental Hygiene Examining Committee.
Members of the committee prepare and conduct examinations for dental hygiene licensure. The secretary is responsible for appointing the committee member(s).
We seek diversity in our members. We recognize the value diversity brings in understanding and serving the people of Washington State. We need candidates with diverse backgrounds and provide geographic representation throughout the state.
To qualify for a professional vacancy an applicant must:
- Be licensed and have been actively practicing dental hygiene for a period of no less than 5 years.
- Shall not be connected with any dental hygiene school.
- Serve a term of 3 years beginning October 1, of the year in which they are appointed.
The Dental Hygiene Examining Committee operates under legislative mandate to protect the health and safety of the public, and to promote the welfare of the state by regulating the competency and quality of health care providers under its jurisdiction.
