UPDATE: Cannabis Product Compliance Rulemaking (Chapter 246-70 WAC)
Greetings!
Thank you for your patience, as we are overdue in providing an update on the status of this rulemaking. In September, we held a public workshop to review the focus areas of the rulemaking, share preliminary ideas for for updates, and capture your feedback for each focus area. We used this rule discussion workshop document during the meeting to capture your feedback.
Our team has been working to develop proposed language for definitions, product classifications, and testing requirements. We've quickly learned that there is more discussion, research, and deliberation than we anticipated!
Next Steps
We hope to set a February 2024 date for the next public workshop, where we will focus on draft language for:
Definitions WAC 246-70-030 and Product classifications WAC 246-70-040.
We will send a Save-the-Date notice once the date is set, then will follow up with draft language and guidance on proposed changes in preparation for discussion during the February workshop.
