The Department of Health, Health Systems Quality Assurance, is accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Board of Hearing and Speech. We have vacancies for one speech-language pathologist, one speech-language pathology assistant, and one public member.
Members of the board shall be residents of this state. The speech-language pathologist must be licensed and have at least five years of experience in the practice of speech-language pathology. Applicants must be actively engaged in practice within two years of appointment. The speech-language pathology assistant must be certified in Washington. The public member must an interest in the rights of consumers of health services, and shall not be or have been a member of, or married to a member of, another licensing board, a licensee of a health occupation board, an employee of a health facility, nor derive his or her primary livelihood from the provision of health services at any level of responsibility.
The Board of Hearing and Speech meets about four times a year. Historically, meetings have been scheduled on a Friday in the months of February, May, July, and November.
