We're updating our list of certified energy auditors
With program launch right around the corner, Commerce is busy getting everything ready to roll out over $164 million in rebate funding across the state.
To make sure the program can hit the ground running, we need your help to build the network of certified energy auditors. If you're already a Qualified Contractor Network member and plan to do energy audits, please take a moment to verify we have your credentials on file. To check your credentials status, send us an email at QCN@commerce.wa.gov or submit a contractor support form. To be listed as an approved auditor on the QCN, verification documents must be reviewed.
Double-check which certifications are acceptable on the QCN Contractor Requirements listed on the QCN webpage. CLEAResult will also be reaching out directly to contractors who want to do auditing but are missing paperwork.
If you're a certified energy auditor, but have not joined QCN yet, the network needs you. Please head over to www.commerce.wa.gov/qcn to submit your application today.
Washington Workforce Board highlights clean energy workforce apprenticeships
 Washington’s clean energy sector continues to expand its workforce through "earn while you learn" apprenticeships. Washington residents who complete registered apprenticeships have a 92% employment rate and earn over $103,000 per year. Check out the Smart Buildings Center Tool Lending Library
The Smart Buildings Center provides a tool-lending library for building and energy professionals in Washington and Oregon. This resource allows users to borrow diagnostic equipment for short-term data collection on energy-using systems in commercial and institutional buildings. Does your business qualify for OMWBE or Veteran-Owned certification?
 Washington’s Office of Minority Women Business Enterprise (OMWBE) certifies small businesses owned and controlled by minority, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged persons. OMWBE offers two general types of certifications: federal and state. Learn more information about OMWBE certification.
The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs offers certification for Veterans and Servicemembers. You can find more information about Veteran Owned Business Certification at the State Department of Veterans Affairs website.
You can include the OMWBE and Veteran Owned Business Certification in your contractor profile on the Qualified Contractor Network list.

August QCN Application Help Hour
 If you know contractors who are interested in joining the QCN or would like to ask questions about the application process in an informal setting, Commerce suggests attending one of our QCN Application Help Hours, scheduled on the second Tuesday of every month from 12 -12:30 p.m.
Contractors can also submit questions via the QCN Contractor Support Form.
This meeting is only for QCN application questions. For questions about the program, please attend one of the sessions listed in the monthly training calendar section above.
