Members of the public can attend online
The Washington State Task Force on the establishment of a Department of Housing will meet from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026.
This will be a virtual meeting. Members of the public are welcome to attend virtually and provide public comment. Registration is required.

About the task force
The task force was created by Gov. Bob Ferguson’s Executive Order 25-12, which he announced in December. It directs the creation of a 19-member task force charged with producing a written report of its recommendations for a new cabinet-level housing agency no later than Nov. 15, 2026, for proposed legislation to be developed for the 2027 legislative session.
