Apparent successful bidder for the Reparative Study for Washington Descendants grant

In 2025, The Washington State Legislature funded the Charles Mitchell and George Washington Bush Study on Reparative Action for Washington State’s Descendants of Victims of United States Chattel Slavery. The study will examine the historical injustices of slavery in the U.S. and its enduring impact on direct descendants.

Commerce was directed by the legislature to spend $300,000 on a study during the 2025-2027 biennium. Commerce is taking 10% for administrative costs to manage the grant, leaving $270,000 for its successful bidder.

In response to Request for Proposal No. 26-33740-001, Commerce received three applications. Further Consulting Services, LLC, doing business as Truclusion, was chosen as the apparent successful bidder.
