Office of Crime Victims Advocacy community facilitator and community reviewer opportunities
The Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA) at the Washington State Department of Commerce is creating a roster of community facilitators and a roster of application reviewers. These will be paid opportunities for those that qualify. We hope you will have a moment to take a look and spread the word.
Community leaders, Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises (OMWBE)-certified businesses, and people who work in community organizations are encouraged to apply for the opportunity relevant to their interest and expertise.
Who We Are
OCVA serves people in Washington by advocating at the state level for victims and survivors, administering grant funds for community programs, and assisting communities in planning and implementing services. We envision a future where all people have access to support, healing and the ability to reach their full potential; where all people experience autonomy, dignity, freedom of identity and expression, and safety in their homes and communities.
OCVA does not provide direct services to victims and survivors, but we support the organizations that do.
Opportunity 1: Community Facilitator
A big priority for OCVA in 2025 is to continue investing in the wisdom of communities most impacted by violence. We aim to do this by working with facilitators and trainers from those communities. Community Facilitators would have the opportunity to:
- Share knowledge to guide strategic planning efforts
- Hold listening sessions with communities
- Facilitate discussions with the programs we fund
- Conduct needs assessments
We are looking for people who:
- Are willing to register for a Statewide Vendor Number
- Are trusted messengers in their community with lived, volunteer, or professional experience working with communities impacted by violence
- Have deep understanding of the historical harms government has caused
- Share a commitment to repair and rebuild trust between communities and governmental programs
- Want to help build a safer Washington for everyone
If you are interested in joining the Community Facilitator roster, please fill out the form linked below. You will be notified as Community Facilitator Consultant opportunities become available. Filling out the form does not mean you have to apply for or accept opportunities. We will work with folks to reduce conflicts of interest with each opportunity.
 Opportunity 2: Community Reviewer
Help review and score applications for future OCVA grants! We are seeking Community Reviewers to evaluate grant funding applications. Community Reviewers contribute to important and impactful decisions about who receives funding to implement various OCVA programs.
We are looking for people who:
- Are willing to register for a Statewide Vendor Number
- Have lived, volunteer, or professional experience working with communities impacted by violence
- Be willing to read and rate applications up to 15 pages long
- Are committed to evaluating applications in an unbiased and fair way
If you are interested in joining the roster, please fill out the form. You will be notified as Community Reviewer Consultant opportunities become available.
