Multifamily Housing Unit releasing proposed updates to Biennial Investment Strategy

Share feedback about the proposed updates at a public meeting April 16

Commerce’s Multifamily Housing Unit is releasing its 2023-25 Biennial Investment Strategy later this month. The update explains how the MHU plans to administer capital funds appropriated in the 2023 and 2024 legislative sessions. This version is being released for public review and comment.

The 2024 Legislature made substantial investments in affordable housing. These updates incorporate legislative changes and the results of 2023 funding rounds. There is also new information about the Housing Repair Fund, Multifamily Energy Efficiency, and Predevelopment grants, as well as a new Rapid Capital Housing funding round.

There will be a public presentation to review the changes from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16.

Register for the meeting on Zoom.

MHU aims to be pro-equity, quality-driven, collaborative and relational. The document will be updated continually, and MHU will host a public forum on proposed changes to the strategy.

You can also provide feedback through a brief survey, or emailing HTFStakeholderCommunications@commerce.wa.gov. The public comment period closes May 9. Commerce will then respond to comments and finalize the document before releasing the 2024 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA).
