HB1390 rulemaking kick-off: Introduction to the Decarbonization of District Energy Systems
On Jan. 18, 2024, Commerce hosted the first rulemaking workshop for district energy systems. 122 participants attended. The Clean Buildings team provided an overview of HB1390 and rulemaking basics.

 Workgroup updates
The Washington State Clean Buildings Workgroup will meet again on Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The January meeting will focus on:
- Establishing the Workgroup's 2024 plan.
- Reviewing the summary of barriers to compliance we heard from the workgroup.
- Discussing the second phase of the financial analysis which will include criteria for selecting case study buildings.
