DEI Conference

WA DEI Empowerment Conference is slated
for Wednesdays in June

This is an opportunity to engage with racial equity work happening across state agencies

By the OFFICE OF EQUITY AND BELONGING
And the OFFICE OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

The Washington State DEI Empowerment Conference (also known as the WA DEI Summit) will be held each Wednesday in June on Zoom and is free for all state employees. This year's theme is "Bridging Gaps and Leaning into Action."

This is a great opportunity to engage with racial equity work happening around the state. Conference attendance could also be a good way to support our DEI competencies as a part of professional development.

Editor's note: We will provide more information through our Insurance and Benefits IntraCOM webpage, future digest articles and a Real Talk on June 14.

By WA CARES FUND and PAYROLL

The WA Cares Fund is a new program that will give working Washingtonians access to long-term care coverage when they need it. WA Cares is designed to help you live independently in your home as long as possible. Benefits can be used for a wide range of services, such as in-home care, paying a family caregiver, home safety modifications, home-delivered meals, transportation and more.

Workers, including folks at Commerce, will contribute to the WA Cares Fund only while working. Once you retire or if you leave the workforce temporarily, contributions will stop.

HR Weekly: Manager Dashboard
is a handy tool for supervisors
to track past due trainings

By SABRENA NEFF
Training manager

If you are a supervisor and haven't had a chance to check out the Manager Dashboard tools in The Learning Center (TLC), you might want to. Today, we'll review a handy tool that can be used to search for past due trainings for team members. How to get to the Manager Dashboard:

  1. Go to TLC.
  2. On the homepage on the upper left, select “my team" and then “Manager Dashboard."
  3. The default view will show your team, tasks and any past due trainings. You will see a list of anyone from your team with past due trainings. Select a name to see details.
  4. You will now be on the detailed exception report by user page. This page shows the name of the past due trainings, the assignment date and due date. From this screen, you can easily export the report and send it to your direct report as a reminder to complete the training.

I hope this tip helps. If you have any questions, please contact me.
