The agency announced Tuesday that Chief Operations Officer Martin McMurry will leave Commerce at the end of the month for a private sector position. If you would like to sign an eCard for Martin, you can use this link by close of business March 29. In addition, we will host a community farewell for Martin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, on Zoom. Current and former team members are welcome to attend.

Editor's note: Washington offers state employees retirement plans. Most folks at Commerce are members of the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS), typically in either Plan 2 or Plan 3. All state employees can also participate in the Deferred Compensation Program. Folks new to state employment are automatically enrolled in it.

About a third of Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) customers don't have a beneficiary on file. It's easy to view and update your beneficiary information.
