HRMS under collected PFML contributions
on Jan. 10 paychecks

For Jan. 10 employee paychecks, the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) mistakenly applied the 2022 Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) rates instead of the 2023 rates. This resulted in an under collection of about $5 or less per employee.

HRMS autocorrected for the Jan. 25 paychecks to collect the correct 2023 premium, including the missed amount for Jan. 10. However, per WAC 192-510-065, we shouldn't have collected the difference. We didn't catch this mistake in time to resolve it before the payroll period closed.
