Behavioral Health Facilities funding round now open

The grant opportunity closes Aug. 8

The Behavioral Health Facilities (BHF) grant application is now open. Visit the BHF webpage for the link to the ZoomGrants application and supporting materials.

Before beginning an application, please read the Program Guidelines, Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) documents. Fact sheets and toolkits for some of the eligible facility types are also available on the webpage.

Eligible categories

  • Enhanced Services Facilities
  • 90/180 Day Civil Commitments
  • Intensive Behavioral Health Facilities
  • Peer Respites

Grant funds can be used for new construction, renovation and acquisition. Funded capital projects must result in an increased number of beds. The competitive funding round is open to nonprofits, for-profit businesses, public entities, and Tribes who are either a community hospital or a community-based behavioral health provider.

Live informational sessions

Commerce and our partners at the Health Care Authority, Department of Social and Health Services, and Department of Health will hold three live informational sessions about the grant opportunity.  We hope can you attend to ask questions about the grant program, licensing and service requirements at the different facilities.
