Attention marine clean tech startups and entrepreneurs

New BlueTech/CleanTech Innovation Cohort forming now, applications due Aug. 20

The Northwest Innovation Resource Center, in partnership with the CleanTech Alliance and Washington Maritime Blue, is convening a cohort of blue tech/clean tech innovators and early stage startups in northwest Washington. Cohort members will have access to assistance from mentors and experts to explore the viability of their ideas and build their startup business.

Who should apply?

Applicants may be in the early idea stage – requiring assistance with ideation and determination regarding viability of your product or service. Applicants should be pre-revenue and pre-external funding (excluding grant funding).

  • All cohort members will benefit from the overall program, and members will receive additional individual assistance to accommodate differences in business stages.
  • Members must be able to participate fully in the cohort program.
  • Applicants from the Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties will be prioritized. Applicants from other counties will be considered.
  • Applications will be reviewed by a group of blue tech/clean tech experts. A maximum of 10 will be admitted to the cohort.

The cohort runs for 10 weeks beginning in Sept. 2021. Applications are due Aug. 20, 2021. There is no cost to apply.

What is clean tech?

Clean technology is a general term used to describe products, processes or services that reduce waste and pollution and require as few non-renewable resources as possible. CleanTech cohort participants can be involved in a wide range of industry such as food and agriculture, smart buildings, energy efficiencies, manufacturing and more.
