Update: Immediate impact grants available for organizations serving people experiencing homelessness in COVID-19 pandemic

Commerce wants community partners to know about an important grant opportunity for non-government homeless service providers offered by the National Health Care for the Homeless Council.

In partnership with Kaiser Permanente, the National Health Care for the Homeless Council will accept grant applications for unrestricted funding to 501c3 organizations in the states of Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia and the District of Columbia meeting the health needs of people experiencing homelessness in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unrestricted grants will generally range from $25,000 - $50,000.

Organizations may submit one application only. 

Applications are to be submitted electronically no later than 5 p.m. CT on Monday, March 30. 

Word limits must be observed. The National Health Care for the Homeless Council will email grant notifications to a designated contact by 5 p.m. PT on April 8. Checks will be mailed Friday, April 10.

Eligible Organizations

Only non-governmental related entities (501c3 organizations) meeting the health needs of people experiencing homelessness in Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia and the District of Columbia are eligible to apply. 

Preference will be given to organizations receiving 330H funding and medical respite care programs.
