Clean Energy Transformation Act: Comment deadline Sept. 6

Commerce convened a rulemaking workshop in Olympia on Aug. 22 pertaining to implementation of the Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA). Written comments on draft rule language discussed at the workshop are due Sept. 6.

Instructions for submitting comments:

Proposed language changes appear as edits in the draft documents. Please download the documents from the links below to view.

Topic: Compliance and reporting requirements.
Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Commerce headquarters, Olympia.
Topics: Additional discussion of planning and reporting requirements.
Thursday, Dec. 12, 12:30 pm to 4:00 p.m.

This schedule does not include activities that Commerce is scheduling to discuss provisions concerning low-income energy burden, energy assistance and the equitable distribution of energy benefits.

The Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) established new planning requirements for electric utilities and set specific standards to reduce and eventually eliminate use of fossil fuels to generate electricity for Washington customers. The law also amended the Energy Independence Act (Also known as Initiative 937).
