Vocational Provider News Bulletin
February 2026
Attention all firm managers, please share with your staff.
In this monthly digest, you'll find important updates, reminders, and resources.
We will still send individual GovDelivery messages when your action is requested or when information is time sensitive.
Tips and best practices
Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in vocational work products
AI tools can be used to help with formatting, polishing language, or getting unstuck on a draft.
One line that cannot be crossed: Do not enter Personally Identifiable Information (PII) into a chatbot.
In other words, remove all real names, claim numbers, specific medical information, employer information, and any information that could identify a worker or claim.
If you are using AI, keep it hypothetical and generic.
It’s optional to use the tools, and it’s critical to maintain confidentiality.
Updates
The Skill Enhancement Training (SET) Guidelines for Vocational Providers were updated in February.
The update includes two new sections:
- Addressing Work Restrictions: provides instructions on how to verify that the physical demands of participating in SET do not exceed the worker's current restrictions.
- Making Changes to an Approved SET: Explains how a VRC should request a change to an already approved SET application.
Please remind staff to review this guidance document before submitting SET applications or revisions and alert them to these updates.
