Work Rehabilitation – two bills for the same date of service?

Are your workers in Work Rehabilitation?

This special program, customized for each worker, assists them in meeting the demands of a specific job. The program may use progressive exercise, work simulation tasks, and education with both physical and occupational therapy.

The treatments often happen on the same date and both bill under the 1023M code. This means that you may see multiple bills under the 1023M code for the same date of service.

Please be aware of this, and pay for the treatment(s), as needed, under claims. You may need to update your payment system if these bills are automatically denied.
