Reminder: New Interpreter Services Scheduling System Goes Live June 17 and Updated Fees
The new SOS International (SOSi) interpretation services scheduling system will roll out on June 17, 2024.
L&I entered into a contract with SOSi to provide interpretation services during medical and vocational appointments in and near Washington State. This includes interpretation services on behalf of the self-insured employers or their Third Party Administrators (TPAs) for the benefit of self-insured injured workers.
The services included in the new contract with SOSi are:
- Scheduled and on-demand in-person interpretation services throughout Washington State and bordering zip codes in Oregon and Idaho.
- Scheduled and on-demand over-the-phone and video-remote interpretation services throughout Washington State and any other state within the United States, and over-the-phone services for out-of-country requests.
Self-insured employers are required to pay bills associated with interpretation services booked through the scheduling system in a timely manner and according to the Medical Aid Rules and Fee Schedule (MARFS),Chapter 14: Language Access Services for Spoken Languages and RCW 51.36.085.
