Self-Insurance Training presents:
Good Faith and Fair Dealing
Substitute House Bill (SHB) 1521, which impacts self-insured municipal and private sector firefighter employers, takes effect July 1, 2024. The law establishes that these self-insured employers have a duty of good faith and fair dealing to workers with respect to all aspects of workers’ compensation.
When: Wednesday, May 29, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024

The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) Self-Insurance Training team is offering training on Good Faith and Fair Dealing. Training will include a review of rules and regulations to follow to prevent possible penalties. You are invited to training sessions on either Wednesday, May 29 or Tuesday, June 18, 2024. You may receive continuing education credits once. This course is not designated as mandatory training.
There is a hybrid option for the session on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. If you plan to attend in person, at L&I headquarters in Tumwater, please register below then inform us by email at SITrainerQuestions@lni.wa.gov that you will be attending in person.
