Vocational retraining fund adjustment – 2% increase
Attention all vocational firm owners and managers: Please share with your staff.
L&I’s annual vocational retraining fund adjustment for July 1, 2023, will increase by 2%. With the increase, the retraining fund for plans approved on or after July 1 will be $20,198.68; up from the current $19,802.63.
The adjustment is based on tuition information from the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and the average cost of a two-year retraining plan. An L&I actuary has validated the calculation.
The amount of the maximum training fund applies regardless of whether a worker chooses Option 1 or Option 2 after the plan’s approval.
