Self-Insurance training summary
February 2023

Over 300 people attended our forms and templates training on Feb. 22, 2023. Self-insurance training is offering no-cost training on a different topic every month throughout the year. We are excited about the great turnout we got for the training last month.

The February training covered what forms and templates must be used by self-insured employers and third party administrators to inform workers of actions taken on claims involving the delivery of benefits, communication requirements, and more.

The training also included a review of rules and regulations that need to be followed to prevent possible penalties arising from:

  • WAC 296-15-350 – Handling of claims - (9) Ensure a means of communication with all workers
  • WAC 296-15-420 – Requesting allowance or denial, or interlocutory order from the department
  • WAC 296-15-425 - Communicating to injured workers during the course of the claim
