Chapter 296-14 WAC, Industrial Insurance – Verification for Presumptive Coverage of Frontline Workers and Health Care Workers

The Department of Labor & Industries filed a CR-102 proposed rulemaking relating to chapter 296-14 WAC with the Office of the Code Reviser.
The proposed rulemaking is creating language regarding verification of presumptive coverage of health care workers and frontline workers. The purpose of the proposed rule is to define what is and is not considered verification of contraction or quarantine for health care workers due to an infectious or contagious disease that is the subject of a public health emergency. It also defines what is and is not considered verification of contraction for frontline workers due to an infectious or contagious disease that is the subject of a public health emergency.

The Department of Labor & Industries has scheduled one public hearing to solicit comments on proposed rulemaking related to the new occupational diseases and professions covered under the presumptions. All testimony and written comments become part of the public record.

Anticipated Adoption Date
The proposed rules are scheduled for adoption on January 31, 2023 with an anticipated effective date of March 2, 2023.
