Urgent Reminder - Required training starting this week for those that must be certified by July 1, 2022

The Self-Insurance Training Team is offering remote training beginning this week for those that must become a certified administrator by July 1, 2022.

Enforcement will begin soon. Every person making claims decisions for 2+ years must be certified by July 1, 2022 or they will no longer be able to manage claims for self-insured employers. If you still need to take the certification test, you are required to register for and complete the L&I provided 72-hour Goal Oriented training program. The training focuses on basic, intermediate, and advanced learning in four categories:

  • Claim Validity
  • Medical Benefit Management
  • Compensation Management
  • Work Disability Prevention

The training program is offering two sessions, each are 8-hours, one day a week for 9 weeks. You must attend one of the sessions during the week, both the Tuesday and Thursday session are the same.
