How to apply
Applications can be submitted online through July 31. WDFW only accepts Road Access Entry Program submissions online through the WILD licensing system.
Entry numbers in the booklet are separated into two hunt categories: deer and elk. When filling out the online submission form, you can select up to four options in any combination of elk and/or deer hunts. Fill out the submission form with the entry numbers for the road areas you would like to access, ensuring that your selections are for the correct species, location, and weapon type.
The application process has two parts: First, applicants will need to obtain the “Special Hunt Application Deer and Elk ADA Road Access” free hunt application in WILD. Second, applicants will need to make their hunt choices through their WILD account.
Hunters do not have to buy a license or tag before applying for a Road Access Entry Program permit, but they will need all appropriate licenses and tags for the game being pursued if drawn for a permit.
Step-by-step instructions on applying through the WILD licensing system:
1. Log into your WILD account at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/login and verify that your email, physical address, and phone number are correct.
2. To begin the application, click on the “PURCHASE A SPECIAL HUNT APPLICATION” tile near the top right of your customer home page.
3. Add the free hunt application, “490 - Special Hunt Application Deer and Elk ADA Road Access,” to your shopping cart and complete your purchase.
4. From the order confirmation page click on the blue “SPECIAL HUNT” button to return to your account and submit your hunt choices.
5. On the “SPECIAL HUNT” page, locate the 2025 Deer and Elk ADA Road Access application in the special hunt applications table and click on the blue “SUBMIT” button.
6. Enter up to four hunt choices in priority order using the dropdown menus that contain the entry numbers for hunts in the Road Access Program booklet. If you want to be considered as an alternate, check the “alternate” box. If there are access areas left over after the drawing, WDFW will match unselected hunters with an area geographically close to their preferred choices whenever possible. Click on the blue “NEXT” button.
7. Review your hunt choices to ensure they are the correct species, location, and weapon type. If you wish to make changes, click on the black “CANCEL” button to return to the previous page. If they are correct, you must attest that you meet the minimum requirements to participate in the Road Access Entry Program by checking the attestation box then clicking on the green “CREATE” button to submit your hunt choices.
8. You will be sent an email confirmation of your submitted application. Submitted applications can be viewed in your account under the “Special Hunts” link.
