Do you want to help protect endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales? Do you have a passion for engaging with boaters about conservation topics?
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, in partnership with Be Whale Wise, is launching a boater ambassador program. This program will train a select group of ambassadors to conduct education and outreach to Washington boaters about the rules and best practices for boating in killer whale habitat.
We will host an introductory virtual workshop on Tuesday, May 7 to provide more information about the ambassador program and to invite feedback and suggestions from potential ambassadors about the program itself.
Space is limited, so those interested in becoming a boater ambassador must submit an application for consideration by midnight on Sunday, April 27.
Click here to submit an ambassador application.
Those selected to participate will be contacted directly ahead of the workshop.
