Be ready for the season with our Turkey Takeover blogs

WDFW is putting a focus on wild turkeys in Washington to help new hunters through our Turkey Takeover of myWDFW.org. The monthly hunting highlights on myWDFW.com will be replaced with informative blog posts all about spring turkey hunting ahead of and throughout the season. There is also a wealth of knowledge already there from previous seasons' Turkey Takeovers.
Our first article this year is on planning your turkey hunt ahead of the season, with information on hunting spots, gear, and preparation, as well as tips for hunting with youngsters in the youth season. Check out the series of articles on all things turkey hunting to dial in your tactics.

The spring turkey youth season is April 1-7,
while the general season is April 15-May 31.
Don’t miss out on a great spring hunting opportunity!
The spring season can make for exciting outings since it’s held when the birds are vocal and responding to calls and decoys as toms make their bid for the attention of hens.
"Turkey harvest in Washington continues to be above average with high success rates," said Sarah Garrison, WDFW small game specialist. "After a fairly normal winter, we can expect another productive spring season in 2025."
For all the details, see the 2025 Spring Season Wild Turkey Regulations Pamphlet.
