Legislative Campus Modernization Project Weekly Update

Newhouse
All construction work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
Work continues on the Newhouse Building replacement, nearby sidewalks, east parking lot, and underground utilities.
Next week crews will continue:
Building interior
-
New: Installing lighting in basement.

New: Installing main door and vestibule for south main entrance.

New: Installing wall rough-in for face of elevator lobby on all levels.
- Installing doors and door hardware (handles, locks etc.) on multiple levels.
- Installing trim and diffusers for HVAC system on level 1.
- Installing glass partitions.
- Installing metal ceiling panels.
- Installing cabinetry and furniture.
- Working on feature wall.
- Painting basement.
- Installing terrazzo tile and carpet.
Parking lot and landscaping
- Installing landscaping and irrigation.
- Crews completed repaving Columbia Street on Oct. 3.

Pritchard
Work on the Pritchard Rehabilitation and Expansion Project continues. In the coming weeks, DES will continue:
- Work on hillside load transfer platform.
- Targeted completion date, third week of Oct.
- Underground electrical work.

CAMPUS IMPACTS
Traffic/road closures
- Columbia Street between Sid Snyder Avenue SW and 15th Street SW remains closed.
Sidewalk closures

New: Sidewalk on the north side of 15th Avenue SW between Capitol Way and Columbia Street.
- South side of Sid Snyder Avenue SW between Capitol Way and Columbia Street.
- Both sides of Columbia Street.
- The pedestrian bridge over Capitol Way will remain closed through the end of the Newhouse project.
Noise and dust

Newhouse site: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Pritchard site: Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
Parking closures

New: Eight parking stalls on the east side of Water Street will be closed on Monday, Oct. 7. Assigned parkers have been notified.
- Three parking stalls on the east side of Water Street will remain closed through Oct. 31. Assigned parkers have been notified.
- Columbia Street between Sid Snyder Avenue SW and 15th Street SW.
- Pritchard parking lot.
