Summer Lecture: The Pig War
 What: "The Third Anglo-American War, or the Pig War: How a Wayward British Pig Determined the Boundary between the United States and Canada"
When: Noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11; doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Details: As late as 1872, the border between the United States and Canada was disputed, particularly in the San Juan Islands. Dr. Thomas "Brim" Smith will tell the story about how a fight between an American settler and the Hudson's Bay Co. over a pig in a potato patch would escalate, bringing land and naval forces of the United States and the United Kingdom to Washington Territory.
