COVID-19 strategy shifts with new 'Roadmap to Recovery' 

Yesterday Governor Inslee announced “Healthy Washington — Roadmap to Recovery,” a COVID-19 phased recovery plan. Beginning on January 11, the state will shift to a two-phase system in accordance with regional case counts.

Proposed budgets 'better than expected'

On December 18, Governor Inslee released his proposed budgets for the 2021-23 biennium and supplemental budgets for fiscal year 2021. Thanks to improved state revenues, the capital and operating budgets proposed for DES are better than we expected.

In December, members of the Workforce Support & Development (WSD) team enjoyed a festive winter gathering over Zoom. The team played games, told stories, donned festive clothes, filters and backgrounds and shared lots of laugher.

"2020 has been hard, but working with great colleagues made getting through it a whole lot better," said Cindy Guertin-Anderson, Assistant Director of WSD.
