Tree removal work scheduled for East Capitol Campus

OLYMPIA — Tree work, including removal of several dead trees and limbs that pose potential safety hazards, is scheduled this month on the East Capitol Campus.

The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services has contracted with Timm’s Tree Care of Olympia for the effort.

Projects and impacts

  • On Tuesday, Jan. 8, crews are scheduled to remove two pine trees and prune a Douglas fir tree near the service entrance of OB2, off 14th Avenue. Work will begin at 7:30 a.m. and impacts will include chainsaw noise. Trucks will be parked on the west side, however there will be enough room for one vehicle to pass and enter the service area.
  • On Saturday, Jan. 12, several trees will be pruned, and four will be removed, in and around the lower visitor parking lot off Maple Park Boulevard (next to Department of Transportation and across the street from the 1500 Jefferson Building). Impacts include chain saw noise and a temporary closure of the parking lot at 4 p.m. Friday until the tree work is completed on Saturday.
