Hello Tribal Child Placing Agency (CPA) partners,
WA CAP (Binti) Updates
On May 29, 2026, WA CAP (Binti) will implement the following as part of our monthly release schedule. Changes were made to four forms to comply with Plain Language and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
- Financial Worksheet (DCYF 14-452)
- Infant Safety (Certified Respite) (DCYF 15-821a)
- Influenza Vaccination Agreement (DCYF 15-822)
- Vaccination Agreements (Certified Respite) (DCYF 15-822a)
Updates to WA CAP (Binti) are informed by feedback from work groups, field staff, leadership, Tribal partners, and external partners. We value your partnership in enhancing the WA CAP (Binti) experience and encourage you to share your suggestions. If you have feedback about forms or language in WA CAP (Binti), please email dcyf.caregiverportal@dcyf.wa.gov.
Importance of Email Addresses for Other Adults in WA CAP (Binti)
It is important to add a valid email address when adding "Other Adults" (not applicants) to WA CAP (Binti). Other Adults can be added to WA CAP in three ways:
- Staff may add Other Adults during the intake of an applicant.
- Staff may add Other Adults at any time after intake by following the steps outlined in the WA CAP (Binti) User Manual.
- Caregivers may also add Other Adults directly in WA CAP (Binti).
Once an Other Adult is added with a valid email address, WA CAP (Binti) will automatically send them an email with instructions to log in through SecureAccess Washington (SAW) and complete their requirements.
Personal Email Reminder for Applicants
Personal email addresses must be used for applicant and caregiver profiles. Emails can contain potentially restricted information, and work email addresses are not considered private or confidential. If an employer's email address is provided, please contact the person, explain the reason, and request a personal email to update their record.
WA CAP (Binti) Kinship Tracks in Spanish Coming Soon
The WA CAP (Binti) Kinship Track will be available in Spanish this summer. This will expand access and improve the experience for our Spanish-speaking applicants.
We will offer training sessions and extra office hours for CPA staff to learn the new features. Invitations will only be sent to CPAs who have opted into the Spanish Kinship Track. Look for more details about this new process in the next month.
If you want to add the Kinship Track and Kinship Spanish Track to your agency's WA CAP (Binti) account, please reach out to your regional licensor. It will take up to two weeks to add this feature.
