CPA Updates

Hello Child Placing Agency (CPA) partners,

Updated Forms

CPA Policies and Procedures for Foster and Kinship DCYF 10-045 and CPA Policies and Procedures Adoption Only DCYF 10-045a have been updated.  To avoid using outdated forms, please download forms from the forms drive each time.

Secure Access Washington (SAW) is transitioning to WA.gov

In April 2026, external users who use SAW to log into OurKids and FamLink will be prompted to create a WA.gov account. All information and data in OurKids and FamLink will stay the same.

A direct message about this transition was sent to caregivers on April 1 as well as a feature in the March Caregiver Connection newsletter. SAW changes do not impact WA CAP and WA COMPASS at this time.

WA CAP Updates

On March 31, 2026, WA CAP implemented the following as part of our monthly release schedule. Changes were made to five forms to comply with plain talk and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

  1. File Checklist (Provisional Expedited License) 10-182b
  2. Supervision Plan for Site Specific Conditions 10-419
  3. Final Engagement Letter 10-483
  4. Final Engagement Letter (No Email) 10-483a
  5. Background Confirmation and Out of State Check 15-460

Updates to WA CAP are informed by feedback from work groups, field staff, leadership, and external partners. We value your partnership in enhancing the WA CAP experience and encourage you to share your suggestions.

If you have feedback regarding forms or language in WA CAP, please email your comments to the Portal Inbox at dcyf.caregiverportal@dcyf.wa.gov.
