Greetings!

Staff in the Office of Innovation, Alignment and Accountability (OIAA) have been busy these past few months providing information to inform decisions during this Legislative session and building products for broader distribution.

Since January, we’ve released the following products you may find useful.

Child Welfare:

Child Welfare Overview FY 2024: This is our annual update that describes the number of children involved in the child welfare system at various key decision points.

Early Learning:

Extreme Child Care Access Deserts and Uptake Estimates: This interactive map, with data from August 2022 – October 2024, displays areas that have too few licensed early learning providers for the estimated population of children. The map can be filtered by provider-eligibility category and child-age group.

Child Care and Early Learning Need & Supply Dashboard: This interactive map displays the estimated need for Early Care and Education (ECE) in Washington state and how much of that need is currently being met by state and federal programs.

ECEAP and Early ECEAP in Washington Communities Dashboard: This interactive map provides information about where Washington's pre-kindergarten program that prepares 3- and 4-year-old children from families furthest from opportunity, Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), services are provided in communities across Washington.

Early Achievers Data Dashboard: This dashboard is updated monthly. It displays data about Washington’s Early Learning Quality Recognition and Improvement System (Early Achievers).

We value your feedback and thank you for your engagement with OIAA and your interest in our work. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Sarah Veele PhD, MPH,
