To limit the emails you receive about the various DCYF projects in the child welfare space, we have put together all the updates related to our Thriving Families initiative in this monthly roundup:

Foster Care WAC Updates (part of D.S. Settlement

  • Virtual negotiations to update foster care WAC 110-148 continue until April 2025. These negotiations involve licensing, child placing agency and tribal child placing agency staff, community caregivers, and youth and parents with lived experience. 
  • Suggestions for WAC Sets 4 and 5 are now available for review. If you would like to give input on revised WAC or have any questions, email dcyf.fostercarenrm@dcyf.wa.gov.

Service Expansion

  • The Public Consulting Group (PCG) will present recommendations for how DCYF can better arrange contracted services to support families involved with the child welfare system and youth transitioning out of Juvenile Rehabilitation.
