ELMS Update

The ECEAP and B-3 ECEAP Applications now include a question about family SNAP/Basic Food benefits.

  • The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), called Basic Food in Washington state, provides food benefits to low-income families to supplement their grocery budget so they can afford the nutritious food essential to health and well-being (https://www.dshs.wa.gov/esa/community-services-offices/basic-food)
  • Child Priority Points now include SNAP/Basic Food.

2024-2025 B-5 ECEAP Performance Standards

The 2024-25 Birth to 5 ECEAP Performance Standards are updated and posted on the ECEAP Contractor page. Highlights include one integrated set of Performance Standards for B-3 and PreK ECEAP in one document. Please view the recorded presentation providing an overview of changes and reach out to dcyf.eceap@dcyf.wa.gov with any questions. You can also join us for Performance Standards Office Hours on Friday, June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., join here.

IECMH Services for Immigrant and Refugee Families

The Migration Policy Institute’s National Center on Immigrant Integration Policy issued a brief that outlines the limited access to IECMH services that immigrant families can face. Learn about the importance of these services and key barriers. This brief identifies opportunities to improve access to services for young children and their families.
