Grant Reviewers Needed
The Strengthening Families Washington (SFWA) team at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is actively recruiting reviewers for our upcoming grant opportunities!
Economic security and community resources are powerful factors in preventing child abuse and neglect. This spring, we are excited to share a few funding opportunities to support organizations that serve/would like to serve families across Washington state!
- Community Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) Evaluation and Program Capacity Building
- CBCAP Perinatal Mental Health (PNMH) Program Capacity Building
In order to ensure that we select organizations to receive funds that will be the best suited to serve families, we need parents*, community members*, and organizational representatives to participate in the review process.
*Please note: for parents and community members with lived experience, we can provide stipends and reimburse expenses for your time.
Reviewer responsibilities include:
- CBCAP Evaluation and Program Capacity Building
- Review and score 6-8 applications between May 3 and May 13.
- Participate in an in-person reviewer debrief, May 13, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
-
Optional: If possible, you should plan to attend the reviewer training webinar on May 1 from 1 - 2 p.m. We will make a recording available if you can't make this time.
- CBCAP Perinatal Mental Health (PNMH) Program Capacity Building’
- Review and score 5-7 applications between May 13 and May 20.
- Participate in a virtual reviewer debrief, May 20, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
-
Optional: If possible, you should plan to attend the review training webinar on May 7, from 1 to 2 p.m. We will make a recording available if you can’t make this time.
When we have a diverse range of reviewers, the experiences and knowledge brought forward as a collective, results in recommendations for organizations that are best aligned to serve families.
To avoid any real or potential conflict of interest, please do not volunteer to review applications if you are an applicant for an opportunity.
Thank you so much for seriously considering being a partner with us in this process. Please share this invitation with anyone who you think may be interested in participating in this capacity. If you have the capacity to partner with us by participating as a reviewer for the opportunities listed above (or any future funding opportunities) and/or if you have any questions, please email us at strengtheningfamilies@dcyf.wa.gov by Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
With gratitude,
The SFWA Team
