Hello,
The Strengthening Families Washington (SFWA) team at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) would like to invite YOU to serve as a reviewer for our upcoming grant opportunities!
Economic security and community resources are powerful factors in preventing child abuse and neglect. This spring, we are excited to share several funding opportunities to support organizations that serve/would like to serve families across Washington state! These include:
- Community Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) Evaluation and Program Capacity Building
- CBCAP Perinatal Mental Health (PNMH) Program Capacity Building
- Home Visiting Service Account (HVSA) Rural Exploration Planning
Where do you come in?
- In order to ensure the organizations chosen to receive funding are ones that will serve families best, we need volunteers to participate in the review process for the above opportunities!
Reviewer responsibilities include:
(1) Reviewing and scoring between 5-8 applications in the spring; and
(2) Participating in the reviewer debrief.
We are actively recruiting a diverse range of reviewers, including: parents, community members, and organizational representatives. As a reviewer, you play a direct role in selecting which organizations that apply for the funding opportunities above will receive funds to continue to serve families. We know that when review panels are made up of an array of folks, the experiences and knowledge brought forward as a collective, results in recommendations for organizations that are best aligned to serve families. Please note: for parents, we can provide stipends and reimburse expenses for your time.
To avoid any real or potential conflict of interest, please do not volunteer to review applications if you are an applicant for an opportunity.
