What Power Users Are Saying About WA CAP Training:

What would be helpful to know before you start?

  • “Get in to the demo system first and familiarize yourself with the portal! Very important to have a grasp of what it looks like before being trained. Come with a positive ‘I can learn and do this’ attitude, and at the same time give yourself some grace, as it will take time for all of us to be comfortable in this new program. Lastly, important for staff to keep in mind that the home visits, interviews and the social worker finesse we all have doesn’t change!”
  • “I had to log on to the Demo system ahead of time and make sure to bring your tablet.”

Impressions of the Training?

  • “I think it was good and time flew by.  Training staff are awesome!”
  • “The functionality and the program specific training in WA CAP was both welcomed and needed! Digging in, working within the portal program at the same time, as being trained was vital to my ability to process and learn this new system. Being trained in a casual yet professional and informative manner is a key! I never once felt like any question posed was looked upon as a dumb question. Rather it was a fluid learning environment. When the training team wasn’t certain about the answer to a question, they would “parking lot” the question which is cool.”

What are you excited about?

  • “I’m really excited about all the functions that WACAP has/will have once the API gets figured out. Just by practicing in demo and knowing there is help available makes me feel better. 😊  I’ve gone through CAMIS, CAMIS GUI, and FL programs so I’m not worried about WACAP.”
  • “I’m excited about the plan for efficiency this program appears to bring to our work. For instance, I think our monthly sup reviews will be faster!”
  • “We can continue to focus our time on clinical thinking and staffing the family’s strengths, issues, concerns, etc…and we will have the info from the portal (aka: paperwork 😉) regarding what has and hasn’t been done right in front of us, without having to dig through files, provider notes to find the info, etc…”
  • “I believe we all will soon forget about the trials and tribulations of having duplicate work in our current systems/programs. We will talk about Famlink, hand counts and our excel spreadsheets like a thing of the past! Soon we will all relish in this new and improved product!”
