COVID-19 Information

Say Yes! To COVID Test is offering free, rapid, at-home COVID-19 test kits to residents of eligible counties. Enter your zip code to see if tests are available in your area. (Available in Spanish)

Why say YES?

  • Help reduce COVID-19 spread by testing at home and getting results in just 10 minutes.
  • People who don’t have symptoms can still spread COVID-19, so testing is critical to knowing if you're infected.
  • Along with vaccination, wearing a mask, hand washing, and physical distancing, frequent at-home testing protects our loved ones.
  • Know more, live safer, and get back to the people and things you love sooner.

Who should test?

  • Anyone age 2 and older can participate. Frequent testing is especially important for those with more exposure outside the home, such as kids in school or people who spend time in a group setting — whether vaccinated or not!

ECEAP Updates

ELMS

  • ELMS Data Entry – Remember to keep ELMS up-to-date. The data is used regularly to monitor compliance with ECEAP requirements, answer questions from legislators and other policymakers, and inform decisions about ECEAP policy. See ELMS Data Entry – Minimum Requirements.
  • Monitoring Your 90-Day Requirements – For each child, by the 90th calendar day from their start in an ECEAP class, you must complete their vision, hearing, and height/weight screenings; obtain their well-child exam and dental screening results; and complete their developmental screening. You must enter results for each of these in the Child/Family Updates section of ELMS.

For assistance, email elms@dcyf.wa.gov.

Preschool Development Grant 2021: Family Voice

Entering preschool or kindergarten is a big milestone for children and their families. We know that when children arrive in a new setting feeling welcomed and excited, they are more likely to find success. Effective transitions are a product of thoughtful, authentic collaboration among early learning programs, schools, communities, families, and children.

Family voice is critical to strengthening early learning transitions. Hearing from families about their own experiences allows us to learn what’s working and discover what’s missing to support effective transitions for all children – particularly those furthest from educational justice.

The Preschool Development Grant (PDG) Transitions Team is seeking families to share their stories through a series of listening sessions. The following prompts guide our conversation:

  1. What are your hopes and dreams for your child as they go to preschool or kindergarten?
  2. What are your fears and challenges?
  3. What does success look like for your child?

Please contact Mari Taylor at eceap@dcyf.wa.gov to schedule a listening session or with questions or recommendations for engaging families in this conversation.
