WA CAP by Binti - Weekly Update - December 9, 2021

Deliverables

We’ve reached an exciting point in the Washington Caregiver Application Portal by Binti (WA CAP) project timeline! Deliverable Two of the Binti-DCYF contract, identified as the Licensing Division (LD) Staff Model, is Conditionally Approved.

What is a Deliverable?

In Project Management, deliverables are simply the result of a process. A deliverable could be a report, document, software product, or another building block of an overall project.

Deliverable One of the Binti-DCYF contract consisted of kicking off the mapping process and establishing the Sandbox testing environment. Deliverable One was completed and approved on 2/12/21.

On a simplistic level, the LD Staff Model includes:

  • all the business processes,
  • business documents, and
  • business requirements needed to complete a suitability assessment of the caregivers in a specific track.

This functionality consists of the following tracks: general licensing, child-specific licensing, unlicensed kinship caregivers, certified respite, adoption only, and expedited license track. It also includes the tiered home study, corresponding output, and renewal processes associated with each track.

What does Conditionally Approved mean?

After reviewing and analyzing Sprint Testing feedback, the WA CAP team confirmed the finalization of the development phase for the LD Staff Model, pending the resolution of the following mutually agreed and identified issues:

  1. The WA CAP team continues to refine how the Tiered Home Study functions in Binti including minor wording/language changes, conditional response logic, and formatting.
  2. Information and data do not source properly and consistently throughout the user experience.
  3. Binti is developing functionality to “unselect” radio/option buttons.
  4. Data fields are inconsistent related to integer fields (e.g. phone number and income).

We confirmed no outstanding issues with Deliverable Two, classified as showstoppers, that could further delay the project.
