Foster Parent Application Portal Update

FPAP Dashboard Example

Being a data collector (continued)

How will the portal work for me?

Once the portal is in place, information that a licensor or prospective foster parent(s) enter, will generate into a report showing on a dashboard like this:

Accurate data helps to manage your workload and track timelines efficiently. Timelines are initiated when certain data is entered in the portal. For instance, when a family becomes licensed, the date of renewal will be automatically generated and tracked for you. Additionally, the portal can track home study timeframes, legal letter deadlines and upcoming hearing dates.

How will the portal help improve our practice and process?

Data reporting is only as accurate as the data that was entered into the system. We often receive requests to report data to DCYF leadership, external stakeholders and media. Leadership depends on quality data to make a variety of decisions including, but not limited to, workload and caseload assignments, program funding, and resource allocation.

How will the portal help better serve our children and families?

Missing data can affect the public’s eligibility for various services and grants. The portal also allows us to analyze data related to our RESJ efforts and further ensure we integrate and implement pro-equity, anti-racist, multicultural policies, business practices, and customer service behaviors.

Next Week: Who will be training me?
