What is Happening?
On April 3, a new feature will be available in WISAARD. The feature is a new tab within the Historic Property Inventory Form, labeled URM (Unreinforced Masonry).
What is the purpose?
The purpose of the project is to construct a customer friendly user portal for collecting and retrieving information on the state’s URM buildings that will identify URM structures, form interagency URM data sharing, generate an educational series for URM recordation and in future efforts connect Washingtonians to seismic mitigation resources. The project will allow agencies, local governments, and the general public to access unique data on each URM building and assess risk for strategic planning.
This project is the result of the multiagency URM Workgroup comprised of representatives from Washington State Agencies including Military Department (MIL), Emergency Management Division (EMD), Commerce (COM), Natural Resources (DNR), Enterprise Services (DES), Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech), the Office of Financial Management (OFM), Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), DAHP, the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC), and other stakeholders.
What should you do with the new feature?
WISAARD users do not need to do anything with the new feature. This notice is just to inform you that it will be there and what the purpose is. We will be working on training and additional enhancements in the coming months. While the feature will be available for any users of WISAARD, we do not expect this data to be collected for typical regulatory or grant funded architectural surveys as it does not inform NRHP eligibility.
