Tom Scribner resigns from Walla Walla City Council
The City of Walla Walla is announcing the resignation of Councilmember Tom Scribner from the Walla Walla City Council, effective Dec. 31, 2025.
Councilmember Scribner was appointed to the Walla Walla City Council on July 17, 1991, to fill the unexpired term of the late Dan Swank and was elected later that year to serve a full term. He left the City Council when his term expired on Dec. 31, 1995. He was again elected in 2015 and has served since January 2016. Councilmember Scribner has served as mayor since 2020.
State law outlines how a vacant position shall be filled in RCW Chapter 42.12. The City Council has 90 days to fill the vacancy, and will discuss the process in January 2026.
“The City extends a thank you to Councilmember Scribner for his 14-plus years on the Walla Walla City Council and service to the residents of Walla Walla. We wish him the best,” said Walla Walla City Manager Elizabeth Chamberlain.
