Prepare for your improved commute to Edmonds College

Swift Orange Line map of Edmonds College station

Welcome back to Edmonds College

It’s back-to-school season and we’ve made great progress at the Swift Orange Line station at Edmonds College! The station will provide easy access to the region for students, staff, faculty, and nearby neighbors. Over the summer, crews have completed some upgrades to the parking lot at Edmonds College to help welcome students back to the campus before Swift Orange service launches in spring 2024.

Through a partnership with Community Transit and Edmonds College, students and staff can ride transit at a discounted rate! Find out if you’re eligible by visiting Edmonds College bus pass site.

Community Transit also offers free transit for youth riders! As of Sept. 1, 2022, people ages 18 and younger can ride transit for free.

In connection with the Swift Blue Line, the future Swift Orange Line will provide the community with easy and efficient access to Lynnwood Crossroads, James Village, and other nearby businesses for Community Transit riders

The station features a new design to make your trip safer and easier. Upgrades include:

  • New local route bus shelters and a Swift Orange Line station
  • Upgraded sidewalks
  • Upgraded landscaping

Did you know? The City of Lynnwood recently completed their improvements on 196th Street Southwest in August 2023. Improvements include a new Business Access and Transit only lane, making it easier and more efficient for people to take Community Transit routes to and from Edmonds College.

About Swift Bus Rapid Transit

Community Transit is expanding its Swift bus rapid transit (BRT) network with additional lines connecting the area.

Swift Blue Line connects Everett to the Aurora Village Transit Center in Shoreline. This line will extend from the Aurora Village Transit Center to the Shoreline 185th Link light rail station when light rail opens.

Swift Green Line connects the Seaway Transit Center in Everett and Canyon Park Park & Ride in Bothell. This line will extend from Canyon Park Park & Ride to UW Bothell.

Swift Orange Line will connect south Snohomish County to the region’s high-capacity transit network when Sound Transit’s Link light rail extends to Lynnwood. Construction began in May 2022. Swift Orange Line service is scheduled to start in 2024.

Swift Gold Line will connect downtown Everett, downtown Marysville, and Arlington. We are in the early stages of planning the project. More details about the timeline and community engagement coming soon!

During construction, we will occasionally send out email updates to share updates about construction, upcoming traffic impacts, and more information about the projects. See more details at Community Transit Swift BRT.
